The steps you take to submitting your application will depend first on which degree you are applying for. Domestic and international students also submit their applications via separate channels for our Masters degrees.
Master of Diplomatic Studies and Combined Degrees
Domestic students
Applications for the Master of Diplomacy (combined degree) or Master of Diplomatic Studies must be made through the University Admissions Centre (UAC).
The following UAC codes should be used when making an application:
- Master of Diplomatic Studies: 831940, 832940 or 835940 (depending on intake)
- Master of Diplomacy combined degree: (code varies depending on your field of study)
International students
Applications can be completed online through the ANU Apply Online facility or by submitting the Graduate Coursework Application for International Students [PDF 137KB] directly to the Admissions Office. Applications to begin study in semester 1 (starting February) are due by mid-December each year (please see the Admissions Office website for exact dates). Applications to begin study in Summer Session (early January) should be submitted at least one month earlier. However, applicants should also take note of the time required for visa application processing.
Please note that all applicants need to prove their English langauge proficiency in order to be granted admission. For further information on this please view the following website.
Candidates may need to submit their applications to the ANU well before the noted due dates in order to receive their offers (required for student visa application) and allow for the time required for processing at the local Australian Embassy or Consulate.
Doctor of Diplomatic Studies
Both international and domestic students should use the ANU Apply Online facility.
Referee Reports
Applicants should also seek at least 2 references to support their application. They should be submitted by the referees themselves to APCD (via mail or email) and accomponied by the following referee's questionnaire report.
