APCD’s primary resource is people and their ideas: a cohort of academic staff, postgraduate and PhD students, adjuncts, affiliates and visitors who are recognised within ANU, nationally, and internationally as a world-class community of scholars.
Academic and research staff
APCD comprises a small team of renowned academics and research officers who specialise in a variety of areas relating to applied and theoretical diplomacy, including international law, international relations, political science, migration and human rights, UN diplomacy, international negotiation, conflict resolution and nuclear non-proliferation.
The research activities of APCD extend into other parts of ANU and beyond, and are facilitated by a world-wide network of practitioners, policy makers and academics. The research program at ANU includes seconded researchers from outside the university, 'in-residence' professionals, and visitors from universities in Australia and around the world.
Our researchers, teachers and students are supported by a talented team of professional staff who provide a team-based approach to college administration.
PhD and professional doctorate scholars
Our PhD and Professional Doctorate scholars come from a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds and are covering an exciting range of projects.
APCD facilitates research collaborations with government and institutional partners as well as with past academic staff, completed PhD students and former visitors.
